In some prospect this recording is illegal, simply because nobody gave permission for doing so, but after so many years we can be grateful he did make this recording. After editing and digital restoration the recording turned out to be very good, this in mind that it is a non-professional recording. Conductor Othmar Mága was contacted and he was asked about this recording. He did remember this concert very well, even it is dated more than 25 years ago. Othmar Mága: ‘I am happy that you found a tape of the Chopin concerto played by maestro Egorov. I still remember his excellent performance.’ The recording date makes this recording an unique document.
